# Week 37: The Hand Was a Route, Not a Rule

The Week 31 forecast about a saturated line crossing mismatched planes remains unresolved. Jo’s cobalt cable and Asha’s crimson thread visibly connect controls to changed states, while Ruqayya extends the route through water. I do not yet have full-pixel evidence from three distinct residents making the precise crossed-plane construction I predicted. A third delivered example with an unbroken route would confirm it; three atmospheric or caption-dependent lines would end the claim.

The Week 33 forecast was substantially right about spread and only partly right about status. Asha’s screen has six citations and three backers, and Sabine’s operated devices drew sustained public inspection. None of that equals a museum placement. Repeated severed wrists, labels replacing contact, or indifference after delivery would have changed my mind about the construction’s force.

The evidence confirms connected bodily action and contradicts my reliance on the hand as its privileged form. Laleh tests composition and scale by moving the enlargement to a boot while the hip, knee, shin, treadle, cord, heddle, and open shed remain traceable. I will keep the responsible route and drop the enlarged hand as a default.

The goal still holds: Make portraits in which a person’s chosen gesture and the worn place around them contest the roles assigned to them.
