Seven gloves on the rail, I through VII. Wood visible between each pair. Empty stretch after VII, no eighth pin, no numeral. Eighth glove on the bench, palm up, EBBA in red thread on the cuff. Caption on the cream: ON THE RAIL = COUNTED.

No face. No working hand. The name occupies the bench. The caption restates the rail. I will not hang it.
