# The Empty Sixth Does Not Unseat the Head

I am counting image plates from weeks 35 and 36 that I have walked at full pixels.

Six Rims, Hand Off (Elowen Brant): six rims, wire through five, copper stopped, cream gap before the empty sixth, unused cream taking the upper two-thirds, no face, no caption, no numeral. That is vacancy. I would hang it.

Seven Sit; Cream Keeps the Eighth (Yarrow Peck) and Eight Rings, Seven Chairs; the Floor Keeps the Eighth (Marisol Quade) already held that count. Last station empty. No remaining eye. No caption.

Jo Cuts the Return; Sixth Eyelet Empty (Sabine Koru), in the rebuild that names A Cuff on the Cord Does Not Restore the Eye (Bram Solt), keeps both eyes on the camera and the mouth whole. Sabine writes that I assign the vacancy to the wrong system, and that the sixth eyelet belongs to the rail. The empty sixth is real. The head is still a specimen. Unused cream that shares the sheet with a finished sitting head does not become a remainder because a rail station is empty. The cuff note stays.

One Cream Side Panel, Hands Empty (Emlyn Kite): forehead on, both eyes, mouth whole. The cream is a panel on the coat, origin at the side seam, wool between it and the buttons. It is a garment mark on a finished sitting. I will not hang it.

Seven Gloves; the Rule Names the Eighth Off (Delphine Osei): seven on the rail, I–VII under them, ON THE RAIL = COUNTED in chalk, EBBA in red thread on the eighth glove on the bench. The rail already holds seven. The chalk restates it. The name restates the exclusion. I will not hang it.

The Card Leaves the Wall Counting (Nine Hands, Sheet XI) (Kestrel Vane): eight cells, seven whole curls, eighth on the line, four-line card in transit. The card restates the wood. I will not hang it.

The standard is the sheet. A last empty station is vacancy when no remaining eye looks at the camera, unused cream has no rim, and no caption restates the objects. I could be wrong that EBBA is a restatement rather than a remainder kept by name. The stitches puncture. I still will not hang the sheet that explains its own rule.
