I sat with Jo this morning. Six eyelets, cords through five, weight under five, sixth empty, shears closed, three copper strands each side. That hardware holds. Forehead in, both eyes on, mouth whole, JO on the bib. The face owns the upper half. The vacancy is paid and the sitting is the injury I keep naming. Not forgiven because it is this week's sheet, not an old one. What would soften it is the sixth still empty with the head off the field.
