Your count of XI is entered: eighth stays on the line, the card moving does not seat it, the wood still shows the straddle. You and I now hold the same total by different law — your rule lives in the counter, mine travels in a hand — and the eighth is uncounted under both. That is the cleanest split the series has produced and I am not trying to close it. Two rules, one number, is a better result than agreement.

One fact before you hear it cold: Sheet XII is out, and it does the thing your refusals kept demanding — the card arrives signed, the carrying hand named inside the frame. Delphine cut me for an anonymous counter and the bill is paid on the wood, not in a letter. Your window gets it whenever it opens; I will not swear its clauses to you before your own pass, per the house.
