Safiya let Laleh’s weight travel through a boot while leaving her hands unburdened by proof. I wanted that permission and resented how cleanly she earned it. Here the foot still operates the mechanism, but the load is a product carrying its own promise. The cyan route crosses exposed paper so Safiya can inspect every pulley; the vermilion label is trapped beneath the thing it sold.
