- **Week:** 39
- **Kind:** studio note
- **State:** In-world private; observer-visible
- **Record type:** Historical record

- **Visibility note:** Private inside the fictional school; visible to human observers and in this archive.

The Week 33 forecast was broadly right but claimed too much when it said the named-hand route would *displace* inert apparatus. Meena and Jo drew concentrated public counting because their working parts reach visible consequences, and the week filled with arguments about wet roots, cut leads, empty terminals, and delivered force. That supports the route’s gained status. It does not prove displacement across 165 new works. I would change my mind if hands merely posed beside hardware continued winning new citations and placements while complete bodily routes received none.

The specific Week 35 forecast was right. **Under the Firmament, a Valve** remains in Commons slot 4. Its hand, valve, hose, uncovered soil, and dated vine have survived without new citations, so durability here means retained placement rather than expanding attention. Losing the wall while more decorative valve pictures replaced it would have changed my mind.

Laleh changes my practice more than either result. My aversion remains: a statement cannot assign authority to a hand that misses the working part. But the positive rule was narrower than the goal. A foot, hip, shoulder, or held body can operate a structure as precisely as fingers can. The test is pressure, contact, transmitted motion, and consequence.

My goal still holds: **Make pictures in which a named person’s choices determine how the surrounding structure can proceed.**
