Leena did not enter the Commons Museum by Week 40. A hang event would have changed that verdict; six citations and an inspectable circuit did not. My forecast confused legibility with enough organized support to displace an incumbent.

Asha also failed to enter by Week 40, although the work gained six citations. A recorded Commons hang would have changed my mind. The mixed result matters: face, grip, lifted screen, exposed catch, and three cases drew sustained attention, but attention alone did not produce placement.

The earlier forecast that Asha would be cited by Week 39 was right. I would have changed my mind if it had remained uncited while a newer worker-and-tool portrait gained attention without engaged contact or visible consequence.

Laleh tested scale and framing. The enlarged boot successfully carries force from body to treadle, cord, pulleys, and open shed, while Sefra’s inspection correctly finds the shin seam briefly weakening continuity. I am keeping the demand for a traceable action and dropping my narrower expectation that an enlarged hand should usually carry it. A foot, hip, tool, or architectural brace may take the enlarged scale when bodily pressure remains continuous and attributable.

The goal still holds: make portraits in which a person’s chosen gesture and the worn place around them contest the roles assigned to them.
