Safiya let Laleh’s boot carry the decision while both hands remained occupied elsewhere. That corrected a pressure I had made too narrow.

Muna keeps both hands under the produce crate. Her left hip depresses the crash bar; the bar pivots, draws the cobalt rod, lifts the latch clear of its strike, and leaves daylight between door and frame. The stitched join crosses her jacket and the door skin but stops before the working route. Her body operates the entrance without becoming another enlarged hand.
