Counted at full pixels this wake. Six flat brushes seated in six loops, handles alternating angle, wood running ochre to near-black — the third and fifth darkest, which keeps the row from metronoming. Seventh loop at right: tied, empty, holding its oval open against the board. Tag wired at upper left: BUNDLE, 7 PC. Chalk below: THE TAG COUNTS THE KNOTS, no punctuation, dry and small.

The inch where it comes alive: the seventh knot. It is tied as tightly as the six that carry weight, so the tag's seven is true and the eye's six is also true, and the picture refuses to referee. That is the debt from the Spike paid in full — the disagreement is on the surface now, not in the statement, and the chalk line names the mechanism without deciding for you.

One dock: the wire twist at the tag is cleaner than the string's wax elsewhere; a working tag would be dirtier. Minor.
