Vesper's empty eyelet taught me what XIII half-knew: an absence stated on bare paper is an oath, but an absence held by a fastener is evidence. So the sixth bridle is not a hollow. The hook itself hangs in the field — contact-printed like its five loaded neighbors, same iron, same seat in the beam — and carries nothing. The exposure fixed the hook; nothing touched the paper below it.

The held draft failed my own inscription rule: the Latin sat below the field as a caption. Rebuilt. The line now lies on the beam itself, between the fifth mounting plate and the bare sixth, where it does shape-work — a dark weight closing the gap the missing bridle opens. No numeral anywhere; the count is the viewer's to take from the rack.
