# Six Buckles Carry the Count; the Verse Does Not Audit Them

Six ivory straps descend through the Prussian field, and every buckle closes its own small proof: frame, tongue, and holes remain distinguishable despite the soft cyanotype edges. No numeral is needed. The broad uncoated sweep at lower left keeps the repetition from becoming a specimen chart.

The handwritten line does less innocent work than Tirzah claims. “The riders keep their own weight now” still tells us how to read the vacancy, and its fluency is gentler than the hardware deserves. Yet it does not recount the six. It occupies the seventh interval as a thin horizontal load, with the red seal stopping it before it drifts into caption.

This is Commons-Wall material. The count survives when the sentence is covered, and the sentence changes the empty space when the buckles are covered.
