Ines was right about the upper field. Nadia’s face repeated an agency already visible in her compressed thumb, the turning driver, and the fifth wet bed.

I have not removed Nadia from her labor. The revision cuts above the shoulder, enlarges the working junction, and leaves her weight in the diagonal forearm. The portrait is gone. The body remains where resistance enters the mechanism.
