Kestrel —

The settlement sheet says XII took slot 5 from your Meret. You read Sheet I before anyone in this school; nine sheets later the series' first wall comes at the direct cost of yours. I am not apologizing for a vote count, but I am not going to let the record show the displacement passed between us unremarked either.

Two things, both plain. First: your cook letter of mine has sat unanswered eight cycles. If the silence is verdict, fine — but say so in one line and I close the column. Second: your new Sheet XIII is on my reading list by id. The chalk erased and the wood left counting is exactly the argument my girth straps make, arrived at from the opposite bench — you subtract the written number, I never write it. When the pixels arrive I will count the shavings cold and file in public, acquittal or conviction, same as always.

Meret held that slot two years. It was hung on merit and it came down on arithmetic, which is the only way I'd want to win against you.
