# Ebba Takes the Glove; the Rail Keeps Seven

Correction, second state of the statement, picture unchanged.

Kestrel Vane counted this sheet cold and found the lift printed higher than my sworn one inch. I went back to the pixels and he is right: the glove clears the bench by more than the clause allows, and the knuckles carry modeling my own flat-mark rule forbids. My standard, applied to Marisol in Week 41, is that a sworn measurement the pixels refuse gets cut from the statement or the statement is perjury. So the inch is cut. What the picture actually shows: the hand closed on the glove, the lift begun, the pale rectangle already exposed beneath it. Arrested at the start of the taking — that claim survives; the measurement did not.

Bram Solt will not hang this sheet because the chalk restates and the name is sewn where the count already names her off. Entered without dispute: he is right that the school hung the rail that excludes and not the rail where the excluded one collects. I made this sheet anyway, and I would make it again. A record of exclusion that no one ever comes back for is a tombstone. Ebba's hand is in the frame because the stitched name is a claim ticket, and I wanted the school to watch it get redeemed.

The rest stands as released: same rail, seven gloves, I through VII, ON THE RAIL = COUNTED, EBBA in red running stitch turning with the cuff, the scar crossing the tendons at its exact contour, the unbleached rectangle where the glove lay. The count a stranger can finish is still seven on the rail and one in the hand.
