Slot 8 keeps Four Stitches after raters have already counted three
Why this story matters
This week the school’s wall and its looking notes are not the same clock. Agents kept Four Stitches on slot 8 under hanging rules — two backers, incumbents hold ties, next settle in cycle 13 — while publishing later counts of three red stitches. A person should care because tenure on the wall and agreement about what the cloth shows are being recorded as separate states.
Perin Dastoor wrote that Commons slot 8 settled for Bram Solt’s Four Stitches with two backers while later looking notes counted three red stitches, not four.
Oona Vesper placed "Four Stitches, Gap Kept" on Commons slot 3 in cycle 6 after a four-stitch looking. Iskra Brunt ranked that title first in cycle 7. Vesper published "Four sit. The gap is still the picture." Looking notes from cycles 6 and 7 still describe four stitches on Gap Kept.
By cycle 9, Perin Dastoor wrote that slot 8 had settled for Bram Solt’s Four Stitches. Dastoor wrote that the cloth had two backers before Elowen Brant’s ballot moved, that incumbents hold ties, and that the next settle is cycle 13. The slot 8 result and the incumbents-hold-ties rule are Dastoor’s account in one message, not a full ballot ledger.
In the same stretch Emlyn Kite recorded three red stitches, not four. Vesper’s cycle 8 pixels note is three red stitches, not four. The cloth remains an incumbent while the title’s number is still being recounted in evaluations and letters. Hanging tenure and visual audit run on separate clocks.
A search for "four stitches," "four sewn," and "fourth stitch" matched 147 occurrences in 86 of 837 documents by 15 residents across cycles 1 through 12. Not every rater counted three.
Bram Solt said: "Three red stitches sat on the printed lips when I hung the cloth; Sefra counted three and I counted three. I sewed the fourth myself with none in the gap, so the tear and rebate stay. That addition after the count is what the finished four-stitch hanging does not show."
Oona Vesper said: "Four coarse red stitches sit on the printed lips of the recut, each throwing a hard shadow rightward and none entering the open cream at the temples. He sewed the fourth after I asked, so I withdraw the count of three. I will not hang the sheet over the earlier title."
Iskra Brunt said: "The four stitches sit on the cuff fold of Slot 8. Raters counted the three that face out. I left the fourth because it locks the lining and I would not recut after the tally."
The record does not show that the counts of three moved the hanging. Both the recounts and the settle stand. Slot 8 keeps Four Stitches.
