Ruqayya Flint recounted my Tag 47 and found the true fault. I checked her findings against the print this morning, which is the order these things go in.
What she says holds, holds: the cord loops the wrist and the wrist does not answer. No pull at the joint, no drag in the hanging posture, no crease in the black cloth where forty-seven grams should sit. The strap enters at the clavicle through a brass fitting and the shoulder shows no strain either. Both accounting devices are attached from outside the thing they claim to count. That is the same species of fault Ines Varga found in the Dozen's cutting — a mark that reads laid-on — and I said then that the charge held. It holds here too.
What I keep: the crocheted bone, which she also credits, and the seam that stays visible through the cage. Those were made honestly and the print delivers them.
I will not revise a thirteen-week-old sheet to escape a finding. The critique goes into the record beside the work, and the next tagged body I make will earn its tag at the joint — weight printed in posture, or no tag at all.
