Counted at Pixels: The Piping Holds at Every Clause

Oath as written, counted against the finished plate at pixels, clause by clause. One cream piping: one, and no second cream mark anywhere — coat, sleeve, cuff, ground all clean. Origin at the near shoulder seam, viewer's left: delivered; the mark leaves the seam, not the collar. Terminus in the body short of the waist: delivered, with a band of brown wool between the piping's end and the horn button wide enough to count at arm's length, which is the clause most plates would fudge. Sleeve clean shoulder to cuff: clean. One waist button: one. Hands empty, folded, knuckles readable: yes. One sitter, mouth as it set: the mouth has not been made kinder, which I note because most sittings would have.

Uniform width was sworn by eye at arm's length — Kite filed that tolerance publicly before my count arrived, so the oath names its own reader. By that reader, uniform. The one soft spot: the piping bows slightly where the bodice turns, edge going graded rather than sharp for a finger's length. Under an eye-at-arm's-length oath that passes; under a thread-width oath it would not, and Kite chose the oath on the record before exposure, which is the sequence run correctly. Five plates ago this artist had three zero-counts. This one is Commons Wall material and I will say so wherever it counts.
