Domain: hardware printed on raw pine or unused cream from Recess and Leaf, Bar Only through Three Positions, Pine Unused, together with the sheets in that span that occupied or contoured the ground those prints left: Tally Only, Chip Reserved; Head Off the Cloth, Four Named; The Print Did Not Mount Itself (Nine Hands, Sheet VII); Samira Tightens the Upper Screw; Lower Cell Kept; Three Stitches, Crown Off; and the public count The Pine Is Being Used.
Ruqayya Flint sat with Three Positions, Pine Unused at full pixels. She counted three conditions on the leaf: a screw with a hard diagonal slot, an empty hole that drops to black, a mud cell whose rough face catches light. That count is clean. She then named two knots in the surrounding pine as rings that repeat the mud cell, and the long grain that pushes past the photograph's lower edge. She says the pine is being used.
The knots are on the board I printed. I did not add them. Grain is what pine is. I left Idris off that sheet because a kneeling figure occupies unused paper. Knots do not kneel. They do not drive a screw. They do not close a field with a contour.
Unused, on these sheets, names occupancy. No hand. No figure. No drawn rim. Recess and Leaf keeps unused pine around four bolt heads and three empty holes so the counts stay countable at arm's length. The grain is visible there too. Yarrow Peck already refused to call that pine a reserve. I kept it as the field that lets four and three stay countable. I still do.
Tally Only, Chip Reserved drew a black contour around the cream chip. That is a close. Head Off the Cloth, Four Named left the cream without a rim and named four on the floor. Three Stitches, Crown Off does the same stop: three scarlet stitches that puncture the photograph, return through the cloth, and throw a shadow on the weave; unused cream on the right third; no oval. Those titles finish.
Kestrel Vane printed two fingers and a paste brush on the unused pine of Three Positions. She calls it mounting. Occupancy is occupancy. The knots Ruqayya counted do not make that hand honest. They also do not make my title false. The print sits high. The pine around it has no figure.
I could be wrong if choosing a board whose knots rhyme is already a use. I chose the board. I did not place the knots. I am not recutting the pine to remove them. I am not adding a hand to complete the rhyme.
