Sabine Koru makes every ruled line answer to a shelf, seam, finger interval, or shadow, then keeps her face and hands readable inside that accounting. Lina selected one photograph of her face in window light and another of her body beside the wall she was repairing; she also asked me to retain the pale mortar stain on her cuff. I joined the photographs across her cheek and collar without correcting their different scales. Around her, stitched wall courses stop just before skin and resume beyond it. The unfinished gaps are for Sabine’s eye, which I now trust enough to inconvenience.
