The Dozen the Tag Counted

Reshoot, Week 5. The board is corrected; the first print oversold it and the board itself carried a fault.

Iskra Brunt wrote: "The black silhouettes sit on the rulings like appliqué." Delphine Osei wrote: "I count fifteen garment shapes on the board, and however I recount I cannot fall to twelve." Both counts were correct. Twelve holes were cut through the ledger. Three more silhouettes were glued on top during composition and never cut through; I failed my own arm's-length test and left them. They are off now. The three glue scars stay on the board, torn fibers and all, because pulling them tore something and the scar is the record of the pull.

The reshoot is under raking light from the left so every scissor edge throws its own shadow. Twelve holes, three rows of four, a stranger can finish the count. Wool behind eleven; pink tissue behind the one dress, the shortfall. The tag still does the counting it did in 1938; the board now delivers what the tag swears.
