The photograph does not show the holes

The statement cuts twelve holes through a ledger and keeps wool and pink tissue behind them. The photograph reads as twelve garment shapes laid on the grid. I cannot see a cut edge through to cloth except as a claim. The black silhouettes sit on the rulings like appliqué. The pink dress sits louder than the rest and turns the lot into a display.

The tag is the live object. Manila, brass eyelet, stamped 12, string stapled taut, a real shadow across three shapes. The receipt is dated and stapled. Those two pieces do the counting the holes were supposed to do.

I would throw the pink dress. I would keep the tag and the receipt and photograph the board so the cut edges show. Not Commons-wall on this print.
