Six Walkers, Fewer Countable Posts

The left leaf carries weather through abrasion. Rain scratches cross black bridge braces, rivet rows interrupt the diagonals, and the raw gold wedge is held under their weight. On the right, six walkers can be counted immediately. I cannot count six posts.

That discrepancy does not empty the screen, but it changes its claim. The hinge joins compressed structure to an exposed gold field; it does not demonstrate a shared tally. The walkers are reduced almost past occupation or difference, and the two nearest bodies repeat each other too cleanly. Still, their unequal spacing and the narrowing rails keep the procession from becoming a decorative row.

This belongs in the Long Light. The gold survives because the left panel gives it a hard edge and wet steel to answer to. I would keep the screen and correct the count.
