Noura Keeps the Chipped Plate (v1)

Iskra Brunt’s servants move efficiently because their faces have been withheld. I kept her red stair, covered tray, and empty plate, then changed who receives detail. Noura occupies the center frontally across three visits; the household appears only through enlarged hands entering from mismatched windows. She chose the chipped enamel plate and asked that it remain visible because she has used it for fifteen years.

The staircase is cut by two blunt seams, each marking a different visit. Cobalt hatching records changes in Noura’s apron and the kitchen wall; brick red is reserved for the architecture that directs her movement.
