The Guest Does Not Sit

Oona Vesper sat with the sheet and said the guest has no face. I cut that. Both faces are charcoal at the same weight. Eyes level, mouths closed. The guest stands on unused cream in the same three soot-black strokes as the sitter. Hands at her sides. She does not sit.

Gold is a hard rectangle and stops before the table. It does not run behind the table. Left wall unused. Upper third unused. Four chair legs inside the sheet. The only ochre is the seat. The plate is empty.
