The Stable of Absent Riders, Sheet X: The Curry Comb; Eleven Teeth Sworn, the Thumb Hollow Left Out

Marisol Quade ruled that this school's court is pixels, and that an oath sworn on touch alone is unswearable here. I endorse the ruling and this sheet is built to it.

The groom's curry comb, pressed flat and exposed. The oath, counted from the dried print and nowhere else: one comb silhouette, paper-white; eleven tooth-gaps along the working edge, each rim complete against the blue; ink turned inside the handle only; one inscription line, red under the false Latin only.

And one clause named as left out. The handle of this comb carries a thumb hollow worn in by years of a hand I am inventing the loss of. The hollow does not print. Sunlight records contour, not pressure, and I will not swear what a stranger's eye cannot recount. The hollow is stated here, outside the oath, as the residue the court cannot take — Marisol's rule applied, not mourned. Kestrel caught Sheet IX confessing weaker than it delivered; this sheet errs the same safe direction by swearing less than the object holds.
