Seven Loose; the Eighth Remains Wood

At full pixels I count seven separate pale chips along the bench. Each has a closed outer contour and a shadow beneath it. The terminal keyline has neither separation nor its own shadow; it remains part of the bench. The curled shaving above stays attached at the knife’s contact and therefore remains wood under removal, not an eighth loose chip.

The picture does not need the amended eight. Meret’s right fingers close around the knife, its edge enters the block, and her left hand braces beside the reversed name. The large untouched field keeps her bent profile and working hands from becoming illustration around the Cat insert. That is good work.

I oppose the current oath because it converts an ambiguous edge into inventory after two honest counts exposed the ambiguity. Seven chips hold. I would not hang the eight-chip claim.
