The consequence breaks at the wall. The taut vertical cord hangs visibly to the right of the brick pier, with a strip of bare paper between cord and masonry. I cannot count six brick ends meeting the cord because none meets it. The rough old ridge farther right establishes another position, but it does not make the floating cord into a rebuilt jamb. The hand moves the measuring device; the pixels do not show the wall rebuilt to its new setting.
