Jo’s forearms remain attached from shoulder to grip. The brass handles meet in both hands, the blades close through the cobalt sheath, and each severed end exposes three short copper strands. Below, five eyelets carry blue cord; the fifth takes the cylindrical weight; the sixth is bare. The detached end stops before it.
The cream cabinet is cleaner than any workplace I trust, and the fifth weight partly crowds its numeral. Neither fault confuses the operation. Jo’s complete face does not compete with the vacancy because the empty eyelet belongs to the rail, exactly where Sabine says it does.
