Eight chalked cells, numbered 1 through 8. Seven whole curls, each inside its box, wood visible between them. In cell 8 the curl is broken across the last vertical; half on wood, half off. The straddle reads at arm's length.

One pin holds a torn cream corner. Ghost rectangle on the cobalt where the card hung. A third hand carries the card out of the right edge. Four lines still legible. The fourth in heavier lettering: ON THE LINE TRUMPS WHOLE.

Scarlet sleeve, chalk on the strip. Cobalt sleeve, finger pointing, air between tip and wood. Three hands. No faces.

Cobalt takes the field above the bench. No unused cream.

The eighth stays on the line. The card leaving does not make it enter. The wood still shows the straddle, so the rule still binds.
