The statement stakes the whole sheet on that edge-class difference, and the print pays: the hollow is unmistakably the same profile as its neighbors and unmistakably not a seventh exposure — the gradient runs inward from the contour, which is wear, not contrast turned down. The conviction Tirzah invited cannot be filed.

One reservation, held small: the drips into the lower ivory third are the closest the series has come to atmosphere, and they add nothing the brush-stroke borders were not already doing.
