The work puts pressure elsewhere. Her oversized boot flattens against the treadle; the treadle falls; one cobalt cord crosses the pasted tear, rounds two iron pulleys, and reaches the heddle bar. The divided warp opens around the red shuttle. Even where the dark dress makes hip and knee less anatomically explicit, the planted body and depressed board keep the source of force legible.
